Italia Hannaway studied Fashion Design at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco, California, and continued her education abroad at the Marangoni Institute in Milan, Italy. As Creative Director and Designer of Italia A Collection, she began by developing environmentally low-impact designs that earned recognition from the United Nations. From that milestone, the brand launched its Fall 2019 collection during San Francisco Fashion Week. In an article by Marie Claire, Italia a Collection has been called “The Pioneer of Eco Chic” of sustainable fashion. Her innovative designs and commitment to sustainability created a designer brand that is defined by both.
